Travel Fair “West Cherkaschyna” Was Held in Uman

On September 27, in the wake of the International Day of Tourism in the territory of the State Historical and Architectural Reserve “Old Uman”, the Travel Fair “West Cherkaschyna” was held. This event was funded by the Uman Tomorrow Foundation and became the first for the newly created Tourist Cluster “West Cherkaschyna”.

The participants of the fair were Uman State University of Horticulture and Ukrainian Agricultural Lyceum, owners of accommodation facilities, green farmsteads and entertaining parks, artists, winemakers, as well as all those who are involved in tourism from Zhashkivsky, Zvenigorodsky, Mankivsky, Talnivsky and Umansky regions. Participants and guests of the event also took part in a round table where the program of activity of the Tourist Cluster “West Cherkaschyna” was presented. During the discussion of the urgent problems of the development of tourist and recreational infrastructure, industry experts agreed that the need for cooperation, as well as the attraction of investments, are the main issues of the present.

Honored guests greeted the participants, in particular, the chairman of Umansky Regional Council Oksana Suprunets emphasized that West Cherkaschyna is one of the most interesting tourist regions of our country, and specialists of the tourism industry should be united to a tourist cluster. Also, the head of the department of tourism of Uman Town Council Anna Kovaliova, the director of SHAR “Old Uman” Vladislav Davidyuk acted.

Oleksandr Fainin, the president of the Uman Tomorrow Foundation and the chairman of the West Cherkaschyna Tourism and Hospitality Association, said that such events as the tourism fair enable us to see the irreversibility of the process of creating tourist clusters throughout Ukraine. In his opinion, the project “Tourist Clusters 300+” is a kind of measure of crisis management at the national level. And one of the first clusters – West Cherkaschyna will bring together entrepreneurs from 9 regions of the center of Ukraine, which will lead to the creation of modern competitive tourism products for domestic tourism and will give impetus to the development of the inbound one.

The Uman Tomorrow Foundation is very grateful to the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Affairs of the Uman State University of Horticulture, SHAR “Old Uman” and Amaranth entertainment and sports complex for the support and assistance in organizing the event.
