7 Wonders of Ukraine

National action “7 Wonders of Ukraine ” was initiated by the Mykola Tomenko’s Foundation “Ridna Kraina (Mother Country)” in 2007. Then, the results of the action the country has identified “7 Historical and Architectural wonders of Ukraine”. In a year, a second phase of the action – “7 Natural Wonders of Ukraine” was conducted. Following this action, one of its winners – Biosphere Reserve “Askania Nova” – on the initiative of Mykola Tomenko became a member of the worldwide action “New seven wonders of nature” (450 nominees from around the world) and was on the list of 77 wonders of the world! Both phases of the action under the title “7 Wonders of Ukraine” had a great success, so in 2010 the public was presented the third draft of the action – “7 Wonders of Ukraine: Castles, Fortresses, Palaces”. And finally, in 2013 “7 Wonders of Kyiv” were selected citizens and experts.
